Really Andria? Why would you say such a stupid and contradictory thing? Perhaps if you put your money where your mouth was the business would still be open. This is the real problem here - people talk the talk but don't walk the walk. But then again I have little respect for Andria Hanley and the Gables Community Foundation as she is pretty much a lazy and two-faced annoying little b*tch and the Foundation is as useless as tits on a bull.

I remember them 20 years ago when they first started. High rent, ambitious over expansion, downturn in the economy, and too much attention to large accounts and not the walk in crowd was their demise.

PS has a high opinion of his/her intelligence-they must be some kind of successful tycoon in their own-right to explain things so clearly and concisely. They are very cool because they use intials instead of their real name when posting jackass comments.... (very brave also). Apparently their mother never taught them the golden rule........

You mean the Golden Rule that applies here in Coral Gables:
We who has the gold ...rules! Is that what you meant BB?

A friend of mine worked briefly for Andria Hanley and she said that the woman was a nightmare to work for/with. She is a manipulative and loathsome person with nothing more than petty things to say about people.
My friend worked for the mayor and Miami Herald's backed feel-good gables page thing and told me it was such a joke. Andria got really high and mighty but has learned that no one really cares about what her and her co-workers/friends have to say or think. Needless to say the employment was short. Watch out for this woman she is a loose cannon and a back stabbing bitch.

Good riddance.
There was two problems with the Preston Scott store. The first problem, of their own making, was that they never paid attention to people just looking to buy some flowers. I must have shopped there a half dozen times for flowers for my wife. I was always an after thought to who ever was serving me and the flowers that I purchased were garbage. The were over priced and usually died the next day, two days if lucky. I had better luck under the overpass at Brickell and Key Biscayne, better flowers at a reasonable price. The second problem was the City. They were scavenging existing merchants (who were in prvately owned buildngs paying rent) for their own buildings. The city is competing with tax paying property owners for existing tenants. This is besides the fact that neither of the businesses that the city put in the parking garage is the correct type of destination retail that belongins in the CBD. It was better that those businesses were originally at the edge of the CBD. That type of space needs retail tenants that will actually draw customers into the CBD. Not only does the City not know what it is doing, it is injuring its overtaxed taxpayers.
